Dale Kenneth Miller
Hanover
Dale Kenneth Miller, 71, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 at his home.
Born May 5, 1939 in Arendtsville, he was a son of the late Charles and Naomi Miller. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dale Ellen Gelwicks, who died October 22, 2010; and three brothers, Wilson, Eugene and Edwin Miller. He was baptized in the Gettysburg Church of the Brethren.
Dale was a retired pizza delivery person for Alex’s Pizza in Hanover, and was a member of the Hanover and McSherrystown Home Associations. He was a social member of the Hanover VFW Post # 2506, the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post # 14, and the Amvets Post # 22.
Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Miller, and his beloved companion, Shirley Gelwicks, both of Hanover; two sisters, Edith Shaffer and Dorothy Carey, both of Gettysburg; and two brothers, Marlin Miller of East Berlin, and Donald Miller of Fairfield.
The funeral will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, February 21, 2011 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6-7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dale and Shirley’s beloved dog Noose to the Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
