Edith E. Dell, 84, of Gettysburg and formerly of New Oxford, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2007, at the Gettysburg Center. She was the wife of the late Charles R. Dell.
Born October 15, 1922, in Berwick Twp., Adams Co., she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Bessie M. (Stambaugh) Byers.
Surviving are five daughters and four sons, Chuck Dell of Hanover, Gloria "Sis" Groft of Hanover, Clarence "Pork" Dell of Thomasville, Dave Dell of Hanover, Dennis Dell of New Oxford, Sylvia Humphrey of New Oxford, Donna Baugher of Hanover, Jean Smith of York, and Toni Bolen of New Oxford; one sister, Mary Coffey of Baltimore, Md.; and 26 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Dell; one granddaughter, Mona Lisa Jacoby; four brothers, Henry, Leroy, Lee, and Charles Byers; and two sisters, Helen Byers and Pauline Wagaman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with Pastor Kenneth Martz officiating. Viewing will be Monday 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
