The funeral will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation:
The viewing will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Jennie Mae Thomas Ernst, 86, of Hanover, wife of the late Neal Leon Ernst, entered into God’s eternal care Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Cross Keys Village The Brethren Home following a lengthy illness.Born, November 25, 1922, in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Venus Daniel and Jennie Mae Becker Thomas. In addition to her husband of 41 years, who passed away in 1981, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Etta Jane Reichart and Ruth Thomas.Mrs. Ernst retired from Hanover Direct in 2000, after nearly 40 years of service. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and worked with Lutheran Social Services as a senior companion. She was an active volunteer with Golden Visions and the Hanover Hospital.Survivors include her son, Gregory P. Ernst and his wife, Regina, of New Oxford; three grandchildren, Stephen Ernst and his wife, Heather, of Hanover, Andrew Ernst and his wife, Diana, of York, and Lisa Moynihan and her husband, Chad, of Ephrata; and four great-grandsons.
