Obituary
Born on Monday, October 18, 1920 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Roxanne Bechtel Reichart. She was also preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Charles Richter, who died in 1996; four brothers, Earl, Lester, Merle, and Ralph Reichart; two sisters, Romaine “Blondie” Lentz and Kathleen “Kas” Hoover Berkheimer; and two infant siblings, Sterling and Thelma Reichart.
Millie worked as a seamstress at the former Hanover Glove Factory and also took great joy in creating lampshades and clothing for her friends and family. A member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, she enjoyed bowling and being a member of a card club, which she would frequently host at her home. She loved to spend time with her family and spoil her grandchildren. In her later years, her son, Bob, became her caretaker and was faithfully by her side until God called her home.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Richter and John Richter and his wife, Jody; two grandchildren, Edward and Julia Richter, all of Hanover; a brother, Frank Reichart and his wife, Prudence, of New Oxford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service is planned.
In memory of Millie, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of Hanover and Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
