Obituary
Helen L. (Shaffer) Nace, 86, of Hanover, passed peacefully Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at her residence. She was the loving wife of 68 years of Millard R. Nace.
Born May 6, 1921, in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Herbert W. and Mabel E. (Sterner) Shaffer.
Helen was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover. She was employed as a manager with Kwal Paints, Inc., in Denver, CO, for thirty years until her retirement in 1981. While in Colorado, Helen loved to ski, and, upon returning to Hanover, she loved to golf with her husband. She also enjoyed walking around Hanover in her free time.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, is one sister, Kathleen Wintrode, of York; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin Shaffer, William Shaffer, and Burnell Shaffer.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating. Viewing will be held between 6 and 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. A second viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and will run until the time of the service. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
