Millard R. Nace, 96, of Hanover, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at home. He was the loving husband of Helen L. (Shaffer) Nace, who passed away July 10, 2007.
Born January 13, 1917 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Norman B. and Myrtle A. (Rebert) Nace.
Mr. Nace graduated from Eichelberger High School in 1933. Millard attended St. Matthew Lutheran Church where he was a member of Russ Little’s Sunday school class. Mr. Nace was also a visiting member of Covenant Life Mission International Church. In addition, he was a member of the YMCA. Mr. Nace was self-employed in the automotive industry. Millard loved golfing and lived in Denver, CO from 1948 to 1980, where he was a member of a country club.
Surviving Mr. Nace are his brother, Norman B. Nace, Jr. of Hanover; his dear friend and caregiver, Margie Martz and her husband Kenneth Martz, Sr. of Hanover; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Bernice L. Nace.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Nace will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with The Rev. Kathryn Schroeder and Rev. Kenneth Martz, Jr. officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be held on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
