Obituary
Bernice L. Nace, 100, of Hanover, passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover.
Born April 4, 1912 in West Manheim Twp., Bernice was the daughter of the late Norman B. and Myrtle (Rebert) Nace.
Bernice went into nurses training at West Side Hospital, York and spent her nursing career at three hospitals in Baltimore. She began at Shepherd Pratt Hospital then spent time at Baltimore City Hospital and finished her career at Johns Hopkins Hospital, retiring in 1978.
She enjoyed traveling and, while a resident of Homewood, enjoyed visiting the residents and playing cards. Bernice was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover.
Bernice is survived by two brothers, Millard R. Nace, Hanover and Norman B. Nace and his wife Janet, Hanover; two nephews, Stephen B. Nace, Hanover and Jeffrey M. Nace, Allentown, PA and a niece Joan B. Sterner, Hanover. Aunt Bernice will also be dearly missed by eleven great nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Bernice Nace will be held at 2:00pm Saturday in the Chapel at Homewood at Plum Creek with Rev. Joel B. Hummel and Rev. Austin L. Chinault, II officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00pm until the time of service in the Chapel.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
