Gloria May Crain, 87, passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at UPMC Pinnacle Hospital, Hanover. She was the loving wife of Thomas Howard Crain who passed away September 12, 2013.
Born December 5, 1931 in Mabel, MN, she was the daughter of the late Karl Oscar and Ragna Josefa (Jensen) Mathison.
Gloria served her country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. She was employed with JC Penny for 30 years. Mrs. Crain was a loving mother, grand and great grandmother and cherished spending time with and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed gardening, feeding, caring for and bird watching.
Her survivors include four daughters; Teresa K. Stahl, Ellicott City, MD, Karen S. Winterling, Hanover, Debbie A. Knox, Milton, DE and Susan G. Arentz, Hanover; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.
Final resting place is along side her husband “Tom” in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory in Hanover.
