Obituary
Born December 4, 1920 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Merle “Dutch” and Miriam (Reck) Seibert, and was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Deardorff and a brother, Donald Seibert. He was a 1938 graduate of Eichelberger High School, and served with the US Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Seibert was a retired employee of the US Postal Service with more than 35 years of service, and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. He loved golfing, bowling, and was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Penn State Nittany Lion football fan. He was a devoted family man, loving his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children, Michael R. Seibert and his wife, Linda, Linda J. Crooks and her husband, Michael, and Randy A. Seibert and his fiancée, Debby M. Rommel, all of Hanover; two grandchildren, Jennifer D. Gilbert and her husband, Donald, of York Springs, and Dr. Todd M. Seibert and his wife, Dr. Jessica Emick, of Cleveland, OH, and two brothers, William “Bill” Seibert of Palmyra, and Robert Seibert of Hanover.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 1, 2010 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with The Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. The viewing will be held 10 to 11:00 AM Thursday at the church.
