Obituary
Born on Tuesday, February 15, 1927 in McSherrystown, he was a son of the late Leo S. and Mary Shaffer Rang. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy and Francis Rang and four sisters, Genevieve Miller, Catherine Bankert, Marguerite Neiderer and Shirley Myers.
A 1947 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a proud life member of the Amvets Post 22, Catholic War Veterans Post 1342, Harold H. Bair American Legion Post 14 and the Hanover VFW Post 2506. He also held life memberships with the New Oxford Social and Athletic Club, the McSherrystown Knights of Columbus, the Home Associations of both McSherrystown and Hanover and the Hanover Fire Company No. 1. He retired from Utz Quality Foods in 1989 after 22 years of service.
In addition to his wife of nearly 68 years, he is survived by their children, Michael J. Rang and his wife, Sharon, of Gettysburg and Theresa Ann Rang of New Oxford; three grandchildren, Tracy L. Mummert and his wife, Sonja, of New Oxford, Craig M. Rang and his wife, Julie, of Dover and Christopher J. Rang and his wife, Kayla, of McSherrystown; and great-grandchildren, Adley Katherine and Cooper Elliott Rang of Dover.
Interment will be held privately at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
