OBITUARY
M. Joyce Hoffacker, 88, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s Eternal Care Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Brethren Home, New Oxford, PA.
Born July 15, 1928 in Hanover, PA she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Marion E. (Krise) Snyder. She was the loving wife of John A. Hoffacker with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.
Joyce was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA. She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post #2506 and of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of AMVETS Post #22, Hanover, PA.
Joyce worked in retail, starting at the G. C. Murphy Store, the Village Bookstore and lastly at Kleffel’s.
Joyce was involved in Scouting, seeing both sons achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. She was an avid reader and volunteered with the Hanover Red Cross for over 15 years. Joyce was a devoted mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Joyce is survived by her children, John A. Hoffacker, Jr. of Hanover, PA and Brett A. Hoffacker of Hanover, PA; and five grandchildren, Andrew T. Hoffacker, Kiersen A. Hoffacker, Maxwell D. Hoffacker, Julia A. Hoffacker, and Adam J. Hoffacker. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Krise and Robert A. Krise.
Following cremation services, at her wishes, the immediate family will celebrate her life at a private memorial service at the convenience of the family. Her cremains will be inurned in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
