Obituary

Lillian D. Rodgers, 87, of Littlestown, PA, entered into God's eternal care Saturday, May 19, 2012 at her home.

Born January 25, 1925 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert H. Sr. and Jane (Smith) Dittmer. Lillian was the loving wife of the late Harold R. Rodgers who died November 20, 2006.

Lillian graduated with a B.S. in Education from Lamar University and received her Master's in Education from the University of Maryland. She taught at Taneytown High School for many years and later was a supervisor of English and Foreign Language for the Carroll County School System until her retirement.

In her spare time, Lillian enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Lillian is survived by two children, Robert B. Rodgers of Rockville, MD, and Jeane R. New of Florence, SC, 4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother Wilbert H. Dittmer, Jr.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Lillian's life will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the funeral home.
