Edith “Edie” Regina (Wilt) Byrd, 78, of Hanover, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Homewood at Plum Creek. She was the wife of Joseph Keith Byrd, Jr., who died June 19, 1985.
Born March 16, 1928, in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Maude C. (Smith) Wilt.
Edie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover. She was employed with Doubleday for 37 years until her retirement in 1987.
Surviving is one daughter, Patricia J. Weaver and her husband David, of Spring Grove, PA; and two sisters, Doris Livelsberger and Mary McClintock, both of Hanover. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Wilt.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2007 at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover with Rev. Fr. Samuel E. Houser as Celebrant. The family will receive friends between 10 and 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. There will be no public viewing.
