Maude E. Deal, 91, of McSherrystown, went to be with the Lord, following an extended illness, on May 12, 2016. She was the loving wife of W. Arthur Deal who passed away on October 18, 1998. 

Born June 24, 1924 in Tamassee, S.C. she was the daughter of the late Wade H. and Anna M. (Rochester) Crow. 

Maude was a member of Captivate Community Church (formerly Calvary Assembly of God), Hanover where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and entertaining family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Mrs. Deal is survived by five children; Elizabeth Dale Deal of McSherrystown, Donna Sue Caruso and her husband Guy of Annandale, VA, Nancy Elaine Stanberry and her husband Wayne of Pinebluff, N.C., Judy Ann Denham and her husband Ron of Florence, S.C. and Timothy Alan Deal and his wife Julie of Abbottstown, PA; she was “Grandma” to ten grandchildren, and “Great Mama” to sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Maude was preceded in death by five brothers and seven sisters. 

A service to celebrate the life of Maude Deal will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 16 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA 17331 with Pastor Vern L. Annis officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm and again on Monday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
