Samuel E. Lobach, Jr., 78, of Hanover, PA, went for his tee time with God, Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the York Hospital.
Born September 30, 1930 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel E. Sr. and Irene R. (Platt) Lobach. Sam was the loving husband of Charlotte (Lewis) Lobach to whom he was married for 56 years.
Sam was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA. He was a member of The Hanover Elk's Lodge #763 and a former member of the Hanover Country club as well as a former member of the South Western Public School District School Board.
Sam was a 1948 Graduate of Greensburg High School and a 1953 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College. Upon graduation he served his country proudly as a specialist in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.
Sam retired from Black and Decker after 22 years as a purchasing agent. Upon retirement he drove a school bus for South Western Public School District for 8 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren play sports.
In addition to his wife Charlotte, is survived by three children, Bruce Lobach and his wife Barb of Hendersonville, NC, Scott Lobach and his wife Joan of Hanover, PAS, Lynn Ann Garvick and her husband Andy of Hanover, PA, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate and remember Sam's life will be held 2 PM, Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA at the convenience of the family.
