Mary J. Lovelace, 91, entered into God's eternal care, 8:50 p.m. Tuesday night, February 28, 2012 at Hanover Hall. She was the loving wife of Robert B. Lovelace, Jr. Mary and Robert were married on May 30, 1942.
Born in Hanover on September 30, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Maudie Riffle James. She was the last surviving member of her family and was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mrs. Lovelace graduated from Eichelberger High School, Hanover with the class of 1938. She worked at her husband's Print Shop in York for several years before retiring in 1982 and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, York St. Hanover where she taught Sunday School and served as a Den Mother.
Other memberships included the Ribbon Mill Luncheon Group, Hanover Needlework Guild and the AARP.
Mrs. Lovelace also enjoyed collecting antiques, knitting, reading and gardening.
In addition to her husband, she survived by two sons Rob Lovelace III and wife Holly, Toby Lovelace and wife Sally of Hanover, also 3 grandchildren, Mauri, Kortni, and Toby Lovelace, Jr.
As per Mrs. Lovelace's wishes, her funeral service will be private.
