Arthur T. Nelson, Sr., 65, of New Oxford, entered into God's eternal care Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of Alice M. Nelson.
Born July 7, 1943, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Louis J. and Florence M. (Harryman) Nelson, Sr.
Mr. Nelson was a member of Trinity Assembly of God, Lutherville, MD. He was employed as a clerk in the furniture industry for 15 years and late as a shipping clerk with the Dundalk Marine Terminal. In his free time, Mr. Nelson loved tending to his garden, especially his azaleas.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, is his daughter, Lois Jean Wildasin and her husband Jeffrey of Hanover; three sons, Michael T. Nelson, Sr. and his wife Karen of Littlestown, Joseph T. Nelson and his wife Samantha of Hanover, and David T. Nelson and his fiancée Nicole of New Oxford; two sisters, Norma Lewis of Essex, MD, and Lillian McNew of Colorado; and six grandchildren, Joseph Jr., Michael Jr., Ashley, Logan, Adam, and Jacob.
He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur T. Nelson, Jr.; three brothers, Harry Nelson, Louis Nelson, Jr., and Wayne Nelson; a sister, Lois Jean Nelson; and his faithful dog, Tinkerbell.
