Homer Sargent, 68 of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Hanover Hospital. He was the loving husband of Jeanne Lou (Schaeffer) Sargent.
Born November 16, 1948 in Brookside, KY, he was a son of the late Chester and Lucinda (Johnson) Sargent.
Homer was a loving husband and incredible father; he loved his family and friends and would do anything for them. Growing up in the woods of Kentucky he spent his day exploring the woods with his friends. Homer was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country in Vietnam; in his free time he enjoyed fishing, camping, playing his banjo and guitar and hiking. Homer was also a member of McSherrystown Home and the Fraternal Order of Eagles - Aerie #1406.
In addition to his wife, Homer is survived by two sons, Timothy W. Sargent and his wife Sandra of Orrtanna, David A. Sargent of Hanover, four grandchildren, Carol Ann Sargent, Alekzander Sargent, Devon Sargent, Anna Sargent; one great grandchild, Aiden Mitz; six step grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Milt, and T.J. Sargent.
