Constance L. "Connie" Murphy, 81, entered into God's eternal care Friday, July 6, 2007, at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of Frank E. Murphy, Sr., for 59 years.
Born December 4, 1925, in Fayette County, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Mary (Lewis) Klipi.
Connie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Hanover, and the Hampstead American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 200, Hampstead, Md. Connie loved flowers, and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and dancing. She especially enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.
Additional survivors include four children, Frank E. Murphy, Jr. of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Michael T. Murphy, Sr. of Delta, Russell T. Murphy of Baltimore, Md., and Valerie L. Surkin of Fawn Grove; a sister, Dolores Rexroad of Baltimore; a brother, Herman Klipa of Baltimore; and four grandchildren, Kimberly Hanson of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Michelle Fidler of Hanover, Michael T. Murphy, Jr. of Baltimore, and Kevin Murphy of Delta.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Klipa.
Family and friends will meet at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, for procession to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass, with the Rev. Fr. Joseph F. Gotwalt as celebrant. Viewings will be Monday 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
