Geraldine M. Laughman, 90, of Hanover, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Hanover Hall . She was the loving wife of the late Lloyd L. Laughman Sr. who passed away in 1951.
Born November 30, 1922 in New Oxford, Geraldine was a daughter of the late Leo and Ruth (Smith) Long.
Mrs. Laughman loved to make rugs and blankets for her friends and family. When she wasn’t sowing she would pass the time with gardening and jigsaw puzzles.
Geraldine is survived by three children, Kenneth Long and wife Carol of Columbia, SC, Sarah Hillard of Spring Grove, and Lloyd L. Laughman Jr. and wife Regina of Hanover, and a sister Agnus Naill. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Laughman was preceded in death by a daughter Judith Laughman, three sisters, and two brothers.
A service to celebrate the life of Geraldine Laughman will be held 11:00 am Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover with Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday night from 6 pm to 8 pm and also on Thursday from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
