Obituary
Born on January 7, 1922 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Edward Wintrode and Edna Markle Wintrode Shriver. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Wintrode. A 1940 graduate of Eichelberger High School, he spent his career as a chemist with Medusa Cement Co. in York, retiring after 40 years of service. He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post 14. He was a member of the Paradise Holtzschwamm Evangelical Covenant Church.
In addition to his wife of 71 years, he is survived by two sons, Lee L. Wintrode and his wife, Gloria and Jay B. Wintrode and his wife, Kathy; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with Pastor Paul Guiliano officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
