Frank W. Johnson, 87, of Hanover, PA, died Friday, February 27, 2015, husband of the late Florence (nee Pedrick) father of Michael F., Frank W., Edward R. and wife Lisa all of Hanover, PA, and Margaret F. Duke and husband Bill of Medford Lakes, NJ; and grandfather of Billy E. Duke. Brother of the late Margaret Finn and her husband Jack. Loving companion of Louise Miller.
Born March 14, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (McConnell) Johnson.
Frank served his country proudly in the United States Naval Air Corp during World War II. He spent part of his life in New Jersey raising his family and moved to Hanover in 1978 when he founded Johnson Steel Rule Die Company with his sons.
Frank was a member of the AMVETS Post #22 where he was a Past Commander, a member of the American Legion Post #14, the VFW Post #2506, the Hanover Home Association, the McSherrystown Moose #720 and the Hanover Eagles.
Frank was a Pittsburgh Pirate Booster for twenty-five years in Bradenton, FL, and enjoyed coaching and umpiring youth sports as his children were growing up.
Additional survivors include 5 step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and Louise's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Frank's life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc.,
