Obituary
Elwood T. Miller, 83, of Littlestown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at home. He was the loving husband of the Helen M. (Dehoff) Miller; together they shared 61 years of marriage.
Born Monday, December 17, 1934 in York, he was a son of the late Lee and Verna A. (Gorman) Miller.
Elwood was a member of the Gettysburg Moose 1526/Chapter 182 and enjoyed playing horseshoes, darts, hunting, and going up to the mountains and being outdoors; of all his pastimes he enjoyed bowling the most, he was a member of two leagues and would always make himself available if a team needed a fill-in. Elwood was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather; he loved spending time with his family and cherished their get-togethers.
In addition to his wife, Elwood is survived by seven children, Susan Smith and her husband Dave of New Oxford, Thomas Miller and his wife Pam of McSherrystown, Darla Livingston and her husband Jeff of Hanover, Joseph Miller and his wife Lori of New Oxford, Douglas Miller and wife Audrey of Shippensburg, Lorraine Bixler and her husband David of Hanover, Bryan Miller of Hanover; three siblings, Delores Bachman of Hanover, Carolyn Johnson of Hanover, Rodney Miller of CA; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Elwood was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Gerald, and Leverne Miller; four sisters, Marilyn Mummert, Mavis Pfeiffer, twin infant sisters and a great great grandson, Isaiah Michael Gould.
A service to celebrate the life of Elwood will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Jennifer Murphy officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. Pallbearers will be; Thomas Miller, Joseph Miller, Douglas Miller, Bryan Miller, Adam Miller, and David Smith, Jr.
