Martin E. Kroft, 72, of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care, Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Hanover Hospital.
Born March 2, 1937 in Adams County, PA, he was the son of the late Monroe M. L. and Bertha E. (Erb) Kroft. Martin was the loving husband of Ernestine (Powers) Kroft to whom he was married for 15 years.
Martin retired from Utz Quality Foods in 1999 after 23 years of service as a pretzel baker.
In addition to his wife, Ernestine, Martin is survived by three children, Martin E. Skaggs of Hanover, PA, Lisa C. Reachard and husband, Patrick, of Jefferson, PA, and Fraya L. Snyder and husband, Vance, of Spring Grove, PA, 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 1 great grandson; three brothers, David L. Kroft of Hanover, PA, Marlin Kroft of Littlestown, PA, and Leonard A. Kroft of Hanover, PA, and three sisters, Janet L. Mummert of Hanover, PA, Nancy L. Garrett of Littlestown, PA, and Diane M. Harget of Biglerville, PA.
Besides his parents, Martin was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene L. Kroft and Monroe J. Kroft.
A service to remember and celebrate Martin's life will be 11 AM, Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, with The Rev. Ken Martz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the York County VA, 2251 Eastern Blvd., York, PA 17402.
