Edward L. “Ed” Wentz, 62, loving husband of Peggy A. Herman Wentz, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born April 23, 1950 in Hanover, he was a son of Catherine H. Sheets Wentz of New Oxford and the late Clark E. Wentz. He was a longtime employee of Dacco Erectors, Inc. of Hanover, with 45 years of service.
Mr. Wentz was a member of Barts Centenary United Methodist Church in Littlestown and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed woodworking and working in his yard.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 45 years and his mother, is a son, Randy E. Wentz and his wife, Annette Lauro-Wentz, of Spring Grove; a daughter, Stacy E. Wentz; a grandson, Cameron Lee Wentz; and a brother, Leroy E. Wentz and his wife, Ellen, all of Hanover. He was preceded in death by a brother,Glenn Wentz.
The funeral will be held at 10:00am Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, with The Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery with Randy Wentz, Cameron Wentz, Leroy Wentz, Ellen Wentz, Joseph Myers, Joe Herman and Barry Stremmel serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6-8:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
