Obituary
Dillard W. Reichart, 82 of Hanover, entered into God’s care, Wednesday, Apr. 5, 2006 at his residence. He was the husband of 59 years to Betty (Geiselman) Reichart of Hanover.
Born Jan. 22, 1924 in W. Manheim Twp., York Co., Mr. Reichart was the son of the late Bert and Relda (Wentz) Reichart.
Mr. Reichart was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover. He was a member and Past President of the AACA, Gettysburg Region, B.P.O.E. # 763 and the Harold H. Bair Post # 14, both of Hanover. Dillard was owner/operator of Hanover Motors for 25 years until retiring in 1989. He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and his hobbies included restoring antique cars and peddle cars. He also was a collector of all kinds of antique memorabilia.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sisters, Betty N. Haidvogal, of Wisconsin, and Shirley Nace, of Gettysburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step-brother, Dennis Reichart.
The funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday, Apr. 8, 2006 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 West Chestnut Street, Hanover with Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating.
Viewings will be Friday evening at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlsle Street, Hanover and Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00am the time of service at the church.
Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. Graveside Flag Presentation will be conducted by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to VNA/Hospice, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331, or to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
