Gene A. Cox, 89, of New Oxford, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Hanover Hospital.
Born February 28, 1925 in Holton, KS, he was the son of the late William A. and Bell (Mehe) Cox. Gene was the loving husband of the late Mary E. (Orendorff) Cox who died September 11, 2011.
Mr. Cox graduated from Holton High School located in Holton, Kansas. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country proudly during World War II, the Vietnam War and the Korean Conflict.
Gene retired from the United States Army, a Master Sergeant in 1967. At the time of his retirement, he was stationed at Ft. Bragg Army Base.
He was a member of the Retired Military Association of North Carolina.
Gene is survived by his children, Keith J. Miller of Seven Valleys, PA, Kathy A. McMaster and her husband Patrick of New Oxford, PA and Kirk A. Miller and his wife Kimberly of New Oxford, PA, six grandchildren, Kevin Harner, Maggie Miller, Michael Miller, Chelsea Miller, Brandon Miller, Alexea McMaster and two great-granddaughters, Madison Harner and Avery Harner. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Cox, his sisters, Dorothy Ruth and Betty Lou Mehe.
