Antje K. Swartz, 78, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Brookside Memory Care Unit at the Brethren Home, New Oxford, PA.
Born December 17, 1942, in Plauen, East Germany, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Katherina (Etz) Gobel
Antje was a professional seamstress working at Joseph A. Banks, Westminster, MD and W. C. Varian Company in New Oxford, PA for over 30 years until her retirement.
Antje was a member of the Hanover YMCA, and the National SPCA. She loved animals, sewing, was an avid gardener, and a gourmet chef cooking wonderful German cuisine.
Antje is survived by her children, Brian S. Shaffer of East Berlin, PA and Silvia K. Cooke of Bonney Lake, WA; three grandchildren, M. Ryan Cooke, Logan Cooke, and Elizabeth Cooke; and one sister, living in Germany, Gisela Hertzsch.
A graveside service will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
