Mabel M. Collins, 84, of Hanover entered into God's eternal care 6:25 p.m. Saturday evening, May 26, 2007 at Homewood at Plum Creek. She was the wife of the late Russell C. Collins. Born in Pleasant Valley, MD on December 12, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Annie Rodenhouse Miller. Mrs. Collins graduated from the University of Maryland in 1944. She then began a career as a Registered Nurse until her retirment. Mrs. Collins and her husband enjoyed traveling and exploring countries and other cultures from around the world. She was also fond of animals and would often take care of them when they were in need of help. Surviving is a brother Earl Miller of Westminster, MD, a stepson Michael Collins, a stepdaughter Rebecca Collins also nieces and nephews. Mrs. Collins was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Margaret Leese, Dorothy Hertz, Mildred Stover, Helen Walker, George Miller, Edward Miller and Richard Miller. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover is assisting the family with arrangements.
