November 1, 1933 - November 18, 2016

Nancy Ann Rickrode, 83 of Hanover, passed peacefully on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Hanover Hall. She was the wife of Richard J. “Dick” Rickrode who died August 24, 2009.

Born November 1, 1933 in Hanover, PA she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Blanche (Shanabrook) Therit.

Nancy and her husband Dick owned and operated the Terminal Cigar Store on York St. in Hanover for a number of years. She then worked as a sales clerk for Rite Aid prior to retiring in 1998. Nancy really enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. She had an adventurous personality and went sky diving a number of times at the Hanover Airport. Nancy also liked taking trips to the Atlantic City Casinos.

Mrs. Rickrode is survived by four children, Jerry Rickrode and his wife Sherry of Hanover, Jill A. Biddy, Hanover, Jack R. Rickrode and his wife Denise of Hammonton, N.J. and Jay W. Rickrode of New Oxford; four granddaughters, Natasha Barnish of Hanover, Nicole Barnish of Brigantine, N.J., Noelle Biddy of Allentown, PA and Nancee Beers of Japan; and one great grandson Asher Martin. She was preceded in death by two brothers William Therit and Richard Gower.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Nancy Rickrode will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. David L. DeLong officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be on Monday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Final committal will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
