Barbara Ann Pressel, 79, of Hanover passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of Robert Leighton Pressel who died September 9, 2005.
Born June 16, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Anna (Fisher) Spangler.
Mrs. Pressel attended Calvary Bible Church, Hanover. Earlier in life she was an avid bowler and enjoyed square dancing with her husband Robert. They also liked traveling together and some of their favorite trips included Bermuda, Hawaii and Israel to visit the Holy Lands.
Barbara is survived by three children, Dr. Michael D. Pressel of Sparks, MD, Retired Air Force Captain Mark R. Pressel of Springfield, Ohio and Dr. Kelly A. Haarer of Monroeville, PA; two grandsons, Michael D. Pressel and Chase S. Pressel both of Sparks, MD; a sister, Shirley Gillespie, York, PA and a brother, William Spangler, York, PA.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Barbara Pressel will be held at 2:30pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA 17331 with Pastor Mike Osladil officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
