Roger Allen “Al” Gruver, 85, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Thursday, December 6, 2018 at home with his loving family by his side.
Born October 28, 1933 in York, PA, he was the son of the late Richard A. and Grace V. (Myers) Gruver. He was the loving husband of Margaret “Peggy” A. (Jacobs) Gruver with whom he shared sixty-four years of marriage.
Mr. Gruver was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA. A life member of The Hanover Elks, and the York County Builders Association.
Al was a 1951 graduate of Eichelberger High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict as a Radar Specialist.
Al was a Supervisor of masonry for many years for C.W. Test until his retirement in 1978. He was a regular weekend golfer at Range End Golf Club for over 25 years. He especially loved being with his family at the cabin in the woods.
In addition to his wife Peggy, Al is survived by one daughter, Terri I. Gruver and Husband George Neira of Landisville, PA; four step grandchildren, Kelli, Kari, Kate and George; one brother, Larry Gruver and wife Joyce of Hanover, PA, as well as nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Gruver.
