Obituary
Oscar Coy Hollar, 86, formerly of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care Friday, December 2, 2005, at the Brethren Home. He was the loving husband, for 58 years, of Willa Jean (Cheek) Hollar who died December 15, 2003.
Born April 20, 1919, in Caldwell County, N.C., he was a son of the late David Lee and Martha Emma (Gregg) Hollar. Coy was employed for more than 20 years with Furniture Makers Supply, Lexington, N.C. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hanover.
Survivors include three sisters, Opal Bollin, Conover, N.C., Mary Williams and Shirley Bumgardner, both of Lenoir, N.C.; four brothers, Marvin Hollar, Newland, N.C., Thomas and Doyle Hollar, both of Hudson, N.C., and O.D. Hollar, Charlotte N.C.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas K. Cartwright officiating. There will be a viewing Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
