Darlene S. Schwartz, 79, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at York North Nursing and Rehab. She was the loving wife of Richard C. Schwartz, Hanover; together they shared 54 years of marriage.
Born March 19, 1944 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles Marvin and Doris Blanche (Kerr) Glanville.
Darlene graduated from Eastern High School, Baltimore where she played in the marching band and orchestra. A talented pianist and organist, she shared her musical talents at the Church of the Open Door, Westminster, MD, the Northwest Baptist Church, Reisterstown, MD and the Hanover First Church of God.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Matthew Schwartz and wife Eileen, York and grandchildren, Jezreel, Zadok, and Lennox Schwartz.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 10 AM at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with Pastor Dan Thomas officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Friday, July 14th from 6 to 8 PM and again on Saturday, July 15th from 9 AM until the start of the service both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Schwartz, Cleveland Friday, Jeff Woodring, Brandon Clements, Sean Euler and Bill Gates.
