Thelma H. Kessler, 86 of Hanover, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Hanover Hall. She was the wife of LeRoy J. Kessler who died January 17, 2002.
Born December 6, 1929 in Union Bridge, MD, she was the daughter of the late John William “Bill” and Mary M. B. (Starner) Davis.
Thelma attended Harvest Time Temple, Hanover. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and canning. Thelma also liked tending to her house plants and doing word find puzzles. Mrs. Kessler was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and especially loved spending time with her family.
Thelma is survived by her six children; Theodore N. Kessler of Hanover, Arthur L. Kessler of New Oxford, Ellen E. Kessler of McSherrystown, Thelma “T. J.” Luckabaugh and her husband James of Manchester, MD, Sarah C. Booth of Westminster, MD and Evelyn M. Schuster of Hanover; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Kessler was preceded in death by her daughter Mona Emily Kessler her sisters; Annie Belle Davis and Irma Davis; her brother Loy Davis and her infant brother Roy Davis.
A service to celebrate the life of Thelma H. Kessler will be will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Fred Mummert officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday from 6 to 8pm at the funeral home and again on Thursday from 12noon until the time of the service at Wetzel’s. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
