Sharon K. Moore, 59, of Hanover, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of Joseph Michael “Mike” Moore who passed away March 25, 2011.

Born September 14, 1954 in Hanover, PA, she was a daughter of Esther L. (Laughman) Stauffer of Littlestown and the late Norman Stauffer.  Sharon was raised by her mother and the late Leroy Miller.

Mrs. Moore worked for 15 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Homewood at Plum Creek. During her last two working years, she was employed with the VNA and Visiting Angels. She enjoyed cooking and hosting family barbeques. Sharon loved horses and enjoyed visiting Hanover Shoe Farms during the spring foaling season. Mrs. Moore also looked forward to festivals such as Dutch Days and the Apple Harvest Festival and going to flea markets.

She was the beloved mother of two children, John W. Kress of Hanover and Julie A. Kress of Hanover; and the beloved grandmother of two grandchildren, Joseph M. Kress and Helen E. Kress. Also surviving are nine brothers and sisters, Brenda Dull of Hanover, Diane Bear of York, Joanne Schultz of Ortanna, Ellen Bower of Taneytown, MD, Randall “Randy” Stauffer of Hanover, Michael “Mike” Stauffer of Littlestown, Marvin Stauffer of Littlestown, Jerald “Jerry” Stauffer of Littlestown, and Norman “Louie” Stauffer of New Oxford; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ann and Henry Moore, Sr. of Hanover.

Sharon is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Stauffer.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. Moore will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover with Rev. Dr. Bruce P. Bouchard officiating.
