Richard K. Kuhn, 84, of Hanover entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Cross Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community.
Born on Sunday, October 13, 1929 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Harry and Elizabeth Folmer Kuhn. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Catherine M. Dickensheets Kuhn, who died in 2007; two brothers, Dan and Jim Kuhn; and two sisters, Mary Kopp and Dorothy Graybill.
Mr. Kuhn retired after 50 years of service with the P.H. Glatfelter Company and was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Hanover Loyal Order of Moose #227, the Republican Club, AmVets Post # 22, and the York County Firefighters Association. An avid golfer, he was a member of South Hills Golf Club. He also enjoyed bowling in the Glatfelter leagues.
Survivors include two sons, David R. Kuhn and his wife, Bonnie, of Hanover, and Robert E. Kuhn and his wife, Gail, of York; three grandsons, Bryan, Allen and Andrew Kuhn; a sister, Katherine Jones and her husband, Edward, of Reading; a sister-in-law, Lydia Folmer Dickensheets; and a brother-in-law, Walter Dickensheets and his wife, Evelyn, all of Hanover.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. David’s (Sherman) United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover with The Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. He will be laid to rest, with his wife, at Mount Olivet Cemetery following the memorial service with military honors rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
