Nancy Ann Zeigler (Heiner) Eltz, 87 of Hanover passed away peacefully at Homewood at Plum Creek on Thursday, March 31, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Donald B. Eltz.
Born June 22, 1934 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Norman O. and Kathleen V. (Martin) Heiner.
Mrs. Eltz worked for more than 30 years at Hanover Wood Heel, retiring in 1994. She was a faithful member of Lohr’s Memorial United Methodist Church in Hanover where she was involved with the United Methodist Women, and later became a faithful member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church in Hanover. She is fondly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved flowers, gardening and helping with the PAL Lunch Program. She also enjoyed spending time at Raystown Lake, and most of all cherished spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by 3 sons: Stephen Zeigler and his wife, Patricia of Ocean Pines, MD, Jeffrey Zeigler and his wife, Karen of Hanover and Gregory Zeigler and his wife, Vicki of Hanover; 1 step-daughter, Kimberly Luckenbaugh of Hanover; 1 sister, Jean Tully of New Oxford; 1 brother, Barron Heiner of Westminster, MD, as well as 9 grandchildren and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert L. Zeigler, her daughter, Pamela Noel, her step-daughter, Deborah Moyer and her sister, Norma Alwine.
A funeral service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 5th at 11am at Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover with Pastor Jason Myers officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hanover. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be at the funeral home on Monday, April 4th from 6-8pm, and again on Tuesday, April 5th from 10am until the start of the service.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Homewood at Plum Creek and to VNA Hospice for the exceptional care they provided.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Victory Free Will Baptist Church; 25 Breezewood Dr.; Hanover, PA 17331 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place; Memphis, TN 38105.
