Obituary
Montyce G. Rutters, 99, of Hanover, passed away peacefully, just a few months shy of her 100th birthday, on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Country Meadows of York. She was the loving wife of the late Herbert P. Rutters; together they shared 68 years of marriage.
Born June 18, 1923 in York, she was a daughter of the late Murray S. and Ruth (Fickes) Goodfellow.
Montyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished her family and loved spending time with them.
Mrs. Rutters is survived by two daughters, Anne Acker and her husband Steve of Spring Grove, Joan Etzler and her husband Larry of Hanover; a brother, Andy Goodfellow of Chevy Chase, MD; a granddaughter, Leslie Etzler; a grandson, Logan Etzler, and many other loving extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Montyce was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Goodfellow and a great granddaughter Teagan Etzler.
There will be no public viewing. Following cremation, a graveside service to celebrate the life of Montyce will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 725 Baltimore St., Hanover, PA with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
