Marian V. Geiselman, 79, of Hanover, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at the Hanover Hospital. She was the wife of Fred D. Geiselman of Hanover for 58 years.
Born September 29, 1927, in Hagerstown, Md., she was a daughter of the late Lloyd T. and Grace Naomi (Hengts) Goodling.
She was a graduate of William Penn High School, York, and a graduate of the York Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Mrs. Geiselman was a Cadet Nurse for the U.S. Army. Her employment as a Registered Nurse included working for Dr. Seitz in Hanover, as a Private Duty Nurse, and at the Hanover Hospital for over 30 years, specializing in the maternity ward.
Mrs. Geiselman was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover. She was also known for her charitable works and contributions to them. Mrs. Geiselman's hobbies included genealogy, sewing, quilting, and gardening. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters and one son, Rebecca A. Meehan, Carlisle, Daniel A. Geiselman, Hanover, Jane V. Army, Anchorage, Alaska, and Gail P. Lenhart, Mechanicsburg; four sisters, Charlotte Hake, York, Margaret Hoff, Tennessee, Nancy Carbaugh, York, and Claire Angel, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one step greatgrandchild. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Edwin, Clyde, and James Goodling, and an infant brother; and three sisters, Ivenore and Emma Ferree, and an infant sister.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with Pastor Richard Herr officiating. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
