OBITUARY
Joyce L. Brown, 81, of Martinsburg, WV and formerly of Hanover, PA passed away peacefully Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Paramount Senior Living, Fayetteville, PA. She married the love of her life, William D. Brown, and they were together 36 years until his death on November 27, 1996.
Born August 7, 1941 in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Virginia Lee Abshire and Francis Leroy Betts.
Mrs. Brown and her husband owned and operated the Blue White Grill in Martinsburg, West Virginia from 1958 until their respective death’s as well as owning and operating restaurants in Hanover and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for many years. She was a loyal member of the First United Methodist Church while living in Hanover and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughter, Edith Willard and husband Steven, Littlestown; 9 grandchildren: Virginia, Christina, Jonathan, Joshua, Hope, Andrew, Tyler, Jude, and Kent; and 4 great-grandchildren: Brentley, Oliver, Malachai, and Marley.
She was preceded in death by her son, William T. Brown, in 2020.
A graveside service will be held Monday, November 14, 2022 at 11 AM at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 725 Baltimore Street, Hanover with Rev. Dr. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Willard, Joshua Willard, Andrew Willard, Anthony Breighner, Keith Willard and Arnie Lenz.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Adams County, PA SPCA.
