Janet L. Meckley, 84, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Saturday, August 2nd, 2014 at the Brethren Home, New Oxford, PA.
Born April 13, 1930 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles Folmer and Mary (McWilliams) Hoffman. Janet was the loving wife of Burnell E. Meckley with whom she shared over 63 years of marriage.
Janet was a 1948 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Hanover, PA.
Janet was a member of New Hope Faith Community Church, Hanover, PA. She was a homemaker and enjoyed antiquing, sewing, gardening and growing flowers, camping and traveling.
In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by her son, Daryl C. Meckley and his wife, Sharon M. of Hanover, PA and daughter, Lynnette K. Meckley, of Hanover, PA; her grandchildren, Kari L. Eiker and husband Jason of Gettysburg, PA and Laura A. Wagner and husband Todd of Glenville, PA; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Austin and Makenzie.
A memorial service to celebrate Janet's life will be held 4:00PM, Wednesday, August 6th, 2014 at New Hope Faith Community Church, 33 Sunday Drive, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Timothy J. Kielley officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
