Glenn S. Fuhrman, 81 of Hanover, passed peacefully, on his birthday, April 12, 2012 at York Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the faithful loving husband of Mary Jane (Heiser) Fuhrman, his wife of 60 years.
Born April 12, 1931 in Hanover, Glenn was a son of the late John E. and Emma J. (Sowers) Fuhrman.
Glenn was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Hanover. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and was a recipient of two bronze stars while serving in the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2506, Hanover.
Mr. Fuhrman was employed with P.H. Glatfelter Co., Spring Grove for more than 35 years retiring in 1995 and was a member of their Quarter Century Club.
Glenn was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed the time spent with his family. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling and playing cards.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children; Michael A. Fuhrman, Weehawken, N.J., Mark D. Fuhrman and his wife Mary Ellen, Marietta, Ohio, Gregory L. Fuhrman and his wife Tess, Hanover and Jennifer J. Edelin and her husband Scott, York, two siblings; Earl Fuhrman and Eloise George, both of Hanover and eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Clyde Fuhrman and a sister Joyce Goff.
Following cremation, services will be private at the convenience of the family. Final resting place will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
