Douglas James Neail, 62, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Monday, December 4, 2017 at home with his loving family by his side.
Born August 1, 1955, in Huntington, NY, he was the son of William R., Sr. and Shirley J. (Myers) Neail of Spring Grove, PA. Douglas was the loving husband of Diane C. (Mavros) Neail.
Douglas attended St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA. He was a member of the Hanover Symphony, where he enjoyed playing the violin.
Douglas was a veteran of the United States Navy having served his country proudly during the Vietnam War.
Douglas retired from BAE Systems after forty-three years of service. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, making Tree of Life Wreaths, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his loving wife, Diane, Douglas is survived by his children, Ian Neail of Camp Hill, PA, James Neail of Chambersburg, PA, Matthew Neail of York, PA and Michael Neail of East Berlin, PA; seven grandchildren, Ruairie, Jade, Cadence, Jesse, Ryan, Tyler and Layla; and siblings, William Neail, Jr. of San Diego, CA, Sharon Martin, Barbara Decello and Teresa Miller, all of Spring Grove, PA.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Douglas’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, December 8, 2017 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 West Chestnut Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover PA.
