Obituary
Born on Saturday, December 4, 1948 in Everette, KY, he was a son of the late Zest Bowlin and Marion Rodgers Robinson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Sherman; and two brothers, Mike & Ron Bowlin. Donnie proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and later retired from the former Hanover Wire Cloth after 21 years of service. He was a life member of the Hanover VFW Post # 2506, Harold H. Bair American Legion Post # 14, AmVets Post # 22, Hanover and McSherrystown Home Associations, and the McSherrystown Loyal Order of Moose BPOE Lodge # 720. He also served as past commander of the Hanover VFW and AmVets.
Survivors include his daughter, Kelly R. Lovell and her husband, Chris, of Hanover; two granddaughters, Renee and Tyra Lovell; a brother, Marvin Bowlin and his wife, Mary, of Hanover; his loving companion, Marie Myers; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 19, 2023 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover with Pastor Tyler Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery with military honors being rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 6 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
