Obituary
C. Daniel Weber, 83, of Hanover, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Dan was born in Hanover, on January 16, 1939, son of the late Charles A. and Doratha (Carver) Weber. He was a graduate of Eichelberger High School, Class of 1957, as well as Hiram College, graduating in 1961 with a degree in Economics. Following his graduation from Hiram College, Dan served in the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1961-1967. It was during his time in the National Guard, where he served as a communications officer, that Dan developed his love of audio equipment.
Dan enjoyed a long and successful career as an insurance broker in Hanover, serving as president of CA Weber Agency, Inc. from 1965 until his sale of the business in 1999.
During his professional career and continuing after his retirement, Dan was active member of the Hanover community, serving many community and professional organizations in various capacities including the Shepmyers Investment Company Board, the Hamilton Bank Advisory Board, the YMCA Board of Directors, the YMCA Board of Trustees, and the Mount Olivet Cemetery Board. Most significant, however, was Dan’s service to the Hanover Hospital. Dan was a past chairman of the Hanover Hospital Board of Directors and the organization’s longest serving board member, dedicating fifty years of service to its board. Dan continued to serve Hanover Hospital as a member of the Hanover Hospital Foundation Board until the time of his passing.
Additionally, Dan was active for many years with the United Way of York County, the Hanover Elks Club and was also a life member of the Hanover Arcadian Social Club.
Dan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna (Martin) Weber; two daughters Lea Weber Ridenhour and her husband, Eriks Janelsins, of Wheeling, West Virginia and Molly A. Weber of Greensboro, North Carolina; and two granddaughters Eve and Grace Ridenhour, also of Wheeling, West Virginia. In addition, Dan is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The Weber family is grateful for the excellent care that he received at Homewood until the time of his death.
Friends will be received at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

My condolences to the Weber Family. I spent 22 years working with Dan. During that time, through his guidance and leadership, Hanover Hospital realized significant financial success and considerable growth in programs and services. The hospital had many upgrades to its physical plant, all of which Dan was involved in through his committee roles. Dan truly loved the hospital and understood the value of an independent, not for profit community hospital. He was an asset not only to the hospital, but the Hanover community.

Mrs. Weber,
I just read of Mr. Webers passing and I am so sorry for your loss. As Executive Assistant to the CEO at Hanover Hospital, I worked with Dan for many years during his tenure on the Hospital Board of Directors. He was always very kind and respectful toward to me and I to him. He genuinely cared about Hanover Hospital, which was demonstrated by the knowledge and history of the institution that he brought forth at the many meetings he attended. I will always remember Dan with great fondness. May he rest in peace.
Sincerely, Diane Helwig

Thinking of your family has you transition to life without your loved one with you in body. I fondly recall each of my brief visits with Mr. Weber and know that each of you brought him such joy!
